Boutique Hotel Lo T is an architecture studio project located in Atlanta, GA, on the south corner of Irwin Street NE and Krog Street NE. This site is bounded by roads on the north and south side, the Atlanta Beltline on the west, and a building occupied by Taylor Architecture Inc. to the south. The concept behind this project is based off of the design of a ramp. The story behind the name of this boutique hotel, Lo T, is derived from the underlying principles of designing a ramp. In the process of designing a ramp, there is a resemblance of drawing stairs involved and thus the name Lo T is the pronunciation of stairs in my second language, Mandarin Chinese.
Throughout this boutique hotel, ramps exist mainly where human trafficking takes place the most, with the exception of the one level ramped parking. As people walk through this boutique hotel, the experience that they should feel is a sense of directed travel, whether its a ramp leading underground or above ground, it will lead the clientele to enjoyable spaces within the building.
